Introduction of Ted b
« on: January 21, 2012, 04:36:21 PM »
Hi everyone, I’m Ted – an addict.

I was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo. and in Northeastern Wisconsin.  So, I’m kind of a city/country boy.  After bopping around the country for years I decided to settle down in Wisconsin.  What I grew up with and what brought me back is the water.  I love the water.  I live on what is called the thumb of Wisconsin – a peninsula that sticks out into Lake Michigan, creating the Bay of Green Bay to the west and Lake Michigan to the east.  I’m surrounded by water and my life revolves around it.  I am a Captain (master) of boats and have made part of my living that way, but it’s only seasonal – The water gets hard here in the winter.  This is resort country and I’ve done just about every tourist oriented service that there is, but I settled into the bar/restaurant business for year around employment.

There in lies two of my problems – I live in a place that parties all week long and I work in a place that deals drugs.  I am a professional dealer and I’ve used too much of my own product. And, Of course, there is a constant flow of anything you ( I ) want from the cities – available weekly from our visitors.  I’m up against the culture of doing drugs –  Wisconsin drinking culture and the resort drug culture.

In order to stay sane I’ve isolated myself.  I no longer work nights, I leave as soon as my shift is over, I’ve moved from bartending to waiting to maintenance.  Income is definatly an issue and I’m getting too old to pound nails anymore – Heh, as if there was much building going on these days.  I know isolation doesn’t work so I’m reaching out to N.A. and other addicts to build a family – a group that can keep each other sane in an insane world.

Well, that’s a little about me and where I’m comming from and I hope to learn more about all of you.  If no one has told you that they love you today then let me be the first – I love you!

Glad you found us again Ted, happy to have you back in our lives.
